Terms & Definitions

GVWR (Gross Vehicle Weight Rating)
The maximum allowable weight of a fully loaded RV, including the unit itself plus all passengers, cargo, liquids, and accessories.
Hitch / Tongue Weight
The downward force the trailer places on the tow vehicle’s hitch. Proper hitch weight is essential for safe, stable towing.
Dry Weight
The weight of the RV as shipped from the manufacturer, without passengers, cargo, liquids, or dealer-installed options.
Max Towing Capacity
The most weight your vehicle can safely tow. Remember this figure includes passengers, accessories, liquids in tanks, and any cargo you add.
